It was built by the statesman G. Zanardelli in 1888 as the former President of the Council and Minister several times, deeply loved Maderno. Designed by architect Antonio Tagliaferri, the villa is surrounded by a large park dominated by a marble statue "The quiet" sculpted by his friend the painter and sculptor Ettore Ximenes who also decorated the interior walls of the villa with frescoes. It is now a nursing home for disabled owned by a non-profit foundation. It can be visited on the occasion of public festivals organized by the Foundation.
